Terms of Service
Halverson Brothers LLC d/b/a Wisco Bros Outdoor Services
By requesting a quote, approving a proposal, or making any payment, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our services.
1. What We Do
We're Wisco Bros — a local outdoor services company serving Green Bay and the surrounding area. Our services include mulch installation, landscape transformations, fall cleanup, bush and shrub trimming, gutter cleaning, and seasonal holiday lighting. Our service area includes Green Bay, Howard, De Pere, Suamico, Allouez, Ashwaubenon, Hobart, Ledgeview, Bellevue, and nearby Brown County communities. If you're outside our standard area, a travel fee may apply — we'll tell you upfront at quote time.
Everything we do is based on your approved written quote. If it's not on the quote, it's not included — and any additions require a separate agreement.
For mulch installations, a standard job includes:
- Remote property measurement and estimating
- Mulch sourcing and delivery coordination
- Full mulch installation in your bed areas
- Cleanup of all mulch from driveways, walkways, and hard surfaces before we leave
A note on weeds: Mulch installation is not a weed control service. Mulch may slow weed growth, but we don't guarantee it will prevent or eliminate weeds. Weed removal and bed prep are not part of a standard install unless we specifically quoted them.
2. Pricing & Quotes
Our quotes are estimates based on remote measurements and the photos you submit. Your quote is an estimate, not a locked price.
The final cost may change if:
- The work area is a different size than what photos showed
- You want to change the coverage area, depth, or scope
- We find additional areas needing work when we arrive
- The actual site conditions require more or less material or labor
If we get on-site and something's materially different from what we quoted, we'll stop and talk to you before doing anything. You'll get a revised number, and you decide whether to approve it. If you don't want to proceed at the new price, that's okay — but we'll keep your deposit to cover the materials, scheduling, and mobilization costs we've already put in.
For mulch installations — minimum job size:
We have a 3-yard minimum. Jobs under 3 yards are quoted at the 3-yard rate.
Delivery:
Any material delivery is always a separate line item at our exact supplier cost — never marked up, never hidden.
3. Scheduling & Weather
We book based on availability, weather, and material readiness.
Weather delays:
We may reschedule if conditions aren't right — rain, high winds, freezing temps, or anything that affects quality or crew safety. For colored mulch specifically, we need at least 6 hours of dry weather after installation for the color to properly set; if rain is in the forecast, we'll move your job. We'll contact you as soon as we know. Weather delays are not a breach of contract and aren't grounds for a refund.
Site access:
Please make sure we can get to the work areas on the scheduled day. If we show up and can't access the property, we'll reschedule — no penalty to us.
4. What We Need From You
To do the job right and protect everyone, we ask that you:
- Give us accurate info about your property — address, access points, layout
- Let us know about any locked gates, hazards, or unusual site conditions before we schedule
- Keep pets secured while we're working
- Tell us about any irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, invisible pet fencing, buried utilities, or anything hidden in or near the work area — before we show up
- Tell us about any pre-existing damage to edging, borders, or retaining walls
- Submit clear, accurate photos of all work areas when getting your quote
If you don't disclose something and it causes a problem, that's on the property side — not ours.
Overgrown or messy areas:
If the work areas need significant cleanup or prep before we can start, we'll let you know before starting. Any prep will be quoted separately and requires your written approval before we touch it.
5. Payment
Deposit
50% of your total quote is due at booking. This locks in your date, your crew, and your materials. We don't confirm a job without it.
How to pay your deposit:
- Credit or debit card (online)
- Check (mailed to our address)
Cash is not accepted for deposits. No exceptions.
Processing fee
A 3% fee applies to all card payments. This goes straight to our payment processor — we don't keep it. To skip the fee, pay by check or bank transfer.
Financing
Available on some jobs. Email us at service@gb.thewiscobros.com for details.
Final balance
Due immediately when the job is done — before our crew leaves. You can pay the balance by card (3% fee applies), check, cash, Zelle, Venmo, or Cash App.
Grace period
If you need a little extra time on the final balance, we can sometimes work with you — but it has to be agreed to in writing before we leave. It doesn't erase the obligation or any late fees.
6. If You Don't Pay
We take non-payment seriously. If payment isn't received as agreed:
- We may put any service support on hold until the balance is cleared
- We can pursue collection through all legal channels
- We may charge interest at the maximum rate allowed under Wisconsin law
- We may recover reasonable collection costs, including attorney fees
- We may file a mechanic's lien against your property where Wisconsin law permits
- Unauthorized chargebacks can result in us recovering all associated costs and damages
If we did the work as agreed on your approved quote, chargebacks aren't appropriate. Initiating one without basis is a breach of these Terms.
7. Cancellations & Refunds
After job completion
No refunds. Once final payment is made, you're acknowledging the work was done as agreed.
Deposit refunds
Your deposit becomes non-refundable the moment we order your materials — regardless of whether a crew date is set yet. If you cancel before we've ordered, we'll refund your deposit minus any card processing fees (those aren't recoverable on our end).
If we cancel
If we cancel before any work begins and before materials are ordered, you get your full deposit back minus any non-recoverable processing fees.
Processing fees
All refunds are issued minus the card processing fees. That's a third-party cost we can't get back.
8. Our Workmanship Promise (And Its Limits)
We stand behind our work — but we don't offer an open-ended warranty. Here's what we do offer:
24-hour window
If you think something wasn't done right, email us at service@gb.thewiscobros.com within 24 hours of job completion and we'll take a look. That's the window.
How to report an issue
Email only — service@gb.thewiscobros.com. Texts, calls, voicemails, and messages to personal numbers don't count. This keeps everything documented and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.
To be eligible for a callback:
- You gave us accurate info and site access
- Final payment has been received
- The issue is about workmanship within the agreed scope
- Nobody touched or changed the work area after we left
- You reported it by email within 24 hours
What we'll do
If it's a valid workmanship issue, we'll come back and fix it. That's it — no refunds, no free material additions, no redesigns. And nothing related to weed growth or natural color fading qualifies.
Anything outside the agreed scope of work — including damage caused by third-party suppliers, pre-existing property conditions, or events outside our control — is governed by Section 10 and not eligible for callback or remedy under this section.
After 24 hours, the job is considered accepted as completed. No further claims.
9. Cleanup
We clean up after ourselves — debris and material off your driveway, walkways, and hard surfaces before we leave. That's a standard part of every job.
If you think we missed something, same rule applies: email service@gb.thewiscobros.com within 24 hours.
10. Property Conditions & Our Liability
Pre-existing issues
We're not responsible for damage to or problems caused by things that were already there — damaged edging, buried irrigation, sprinkler heads, invisible pet fencing, retaining walls, utilities, or anything else that wasn't disclosed to us before the job. If we find something during the job that changes things, we'll flag it.
Hidden stuff
If you've got buried lines, irrigation, or hidden wiring near the work area — tell us before we start. We're not responsible for damage to things we couldn't see and weren't told about.
For mulch installations — colored mulch colors
We don't guarantee specific color outcomes. Color varies between batches and fades naturally over time from sun and weather. That's the product — not a workmanship issue.
Our liability cap
To the fullest extent permitted by Wisconsin law, our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us for the job. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
10A. Material Delivery & Third-Party Suppliers
For jobs that require bulk material delivery, we coordinate the delivery from our suppliers — currently Stone Creek Haven, LLC (3230 Eiler Road, De Pere, WI) for mulch. We schedule the drop, we receive the material, and we install it. We are not the delivery party. The supplier owns the truck, the driver, and the delivery process.
Drop placement
When materials arrive on your property, the supplier's driver chooses where to drop based on access and what they can see. We try to coordinate placement when we're on-site, but the final call belongs to the driver and the access conditions at your property. If a specific drop location is critical to you (avoid driveway, avoid lawn, keep clear of siding, etc.) — tell us before delivery day and we'll do our best to direct it. Otherwise, drop location is at the supplier's discretion.
Damage during delivery
We are not liable for any damage to your property, structures, vehicles, vegetation, trees, branches, power lines, irrigation, fencing, siding, or any other items caused by the supplier's truck, equipment, or personnel during the delivery process. This includes:
- Material staining of siding, walkways, or hard surfaces from drop placement
- Damage to overhead branches, trees, or vegetation from delivery truck clearance
- Lawn or turf damage from delivery truck tire tracks
- Damage to vehicles, structures, or other items in or near the drop zone
Any claims related to delivery damage must be pursued directly with the supplier. We're happy to provide the supplier's contact information and any documentation we have (date, time, driver name if available) to assist your claim — but we are not the responsible party and will not be financially liable for supplier-caused damage.
Overhead and approach hazards
Please tell us before delivery day if you have low-hanging branches, overhead wires, narrow gates, soft ground, or any other access issues that could affect a supplier truck (typical truck dimensions: 10–14 ft tall, 8 ft wide). If you don't disclose access hazards and the supplier truck causes damage or can't make the drop, that's on the property side — not ours.
11. Photos & Marketing
We take before/after photos on every job. Those photos — along with the ones you submitted for quoting — may be used for our website and social media marketing. We will never post your address.
If you'd prefer your property not be featured, just let us know at any time. Full details in our Privacy Policy at thewiscobros.com/privacy.
12. Text Messages
By giving us your phone number, you're agreeing to receive texts from us about:
- Scheduling confirmations and updates
- Crew arrival notifications
- Payment reminders
- Follow-ups after your job
Standard message and data rates may apply. Texting us is never required to book. Reply STOP to opt out anytime. Reply HELP for assistance.
13. If There's a Dispute
Start here
Email us first — service@gb.thewiscobros.com. We'll take up to 90 days to review and respond. Don't file a chargeback, open a legal case, or go to a third party before that window runs out. Skipping this step is a breach of these Terms.
Time limit on claims
Any legal action arising from our services must be brought within 1 year of the service date. You agree to this limit as a condition of working with us.
Governing law
Wisconsin law governs these Terms. Any legal action must be filed in Brown County, Wisconsin. Small claims court is always available for disputes that qualify.
14. Our Right to Refuse or Stop Work
We can decline or stop any job at any time — unsafe conditions, undisclosed hazards, non-payment, or hostile behavior. In those cases, your deposit is forfeited in full. No partial credit for work completed.
If we cancel for our own reasons before work starts and before materials are ordered, refunds follow Section 7.
15. Updates to These Terms
We may update these Terms. The version in effect when you approved your quote or paid your deposit is the one that governs your job. Continuing to use our services after an update means you accept the new Terms going forward.
16. The Full Agreement
These Terms, together with your approved quote, are the complete agreement between you and Halverson Brothers LLC. They replace any prior conversations, promises, or understandings. Any changes must be in writing, agreed to by both parties.
17. If Part of This Is Invalid
If any section of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
